About Alex Nuñez

Alex Nuñez is the CEO of Esperanza International, an organization offering both financial services and access to capital in the Dominican Republic. Prior to working at Esperanza, Alex worked in a major government defense company for eleven years. She began serving in Esperanza in March 2012 as the Vice President of Public Affairs and Caribbean Investment prior to taking on her new role as CEO in January 2018. Alex received her MBA from Belhaven College, a B.S. from Eastern Mennonite University, and graduated from the Lifework Leadership Program in 2012. She was asked to join the Board of Directors in December 2014. Alex is active in a small church in Santo Domingo where she serves as a volunteer in whatever capacity needed. She loves to travel, to experience new cultures, to see people reach their full potential professionally, personally and spiritually—and she’s all about animal rescue. Don't be surprised if she stops traffic to help a kitten or assist a slow turtle to cross a dangerous path.
